STORYTELLING

This is the 2nd task in Level 3: The storytelling. Next, I will present my storytelling. As I said in the previous article. This prose fiction wants to be the initial presentation for a ESCAPE CLASSROOM . My desire is to put it into practice in the 3rd term, linked to Saint George Festivity, with kids in the Third Cycle (Primary 5 & 6 together) . I hope our current situation improves and  we can finally do it. After my last awful experience with the tools in the storyboard and having had a look at the proposed tools in the course and even after having tried some of them out, I have decided presenting this STORYTELLING with two different tools: the Chromavid & the  iMOVIE  apps. The reason why I have done this election is because, in my opinion, t he suggested ones are quite limited and if you want to do something more challenging you need to pay. And...sorry but I am not going to do it, using money from my pocket for something related to work. After re...

STORYBOARD

Once in Level 3, we had to prepare a storyboard related to the storytelling we want to use for the final gamification activity. My experience when doing this draft it hasn't been quite good. I have had plenty of problems. Although I had a clear idea of the prose I wanted to use, I had great difficulties in finding the right ICT tool to express in a visual way what I had in my mind. Firstly, maybe because we are still used to doing drafts using paper. For me, this is still the fastest and easiest way. In this sense, incorporating the ICT tool, it has been a waste of time. Secondly, because I started using some tools, but when you learnt how it worked, you realized that that wasn't the style you were looking for. Thus, you had to move to another tool. And thirdly, once you got the tool you expected, and you had almost finished, then you had to pay for adding extra images or  for adding more than 6 comic strips or even paying for downloading it. And obviously, I am not goin...

DAFO ANALYSIS

After hours of reading and reflecting about the main ideas in this 2nd challenge, I  have started to reach my own conclusions: HOW MOTIVATION, DYNAMICS, TYPES OF GAMERS & EVALUATION CAN INFLUENCE ON THE PLANNING OF A GAMIFICATION PROJECT. This is my final result synthesised in a SWOT ANALYSIS, created with POWTOON:

MOTIVATION

When talking about Gamification we have to bear in mind plenty of aspects. One of them is pondering on ...  WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?   Thus, in this section, we are talking about MOTIVATION . So... this is my learning path through this new world to become updated! After reading the theory (in this 2nd level task) and the articles proposed, the conclusions that came up are presented in the following mind map , created using bubbl.us : MOTIVATION   (click on this link to see it better) However, after finishing it then, something came to my mind.  I was thinking about...  WHAT DO I REALLY NEED TO IMPLEMENT A GAMIFICATION PROJECT ? And then, I cut back some ideas and I mulled over what I think it is really important to be hands-on. Therefore, this was my final product . Maybe this is more useful for teacher to start planning a gamification project. I present it with an infographic made with canva.com . Here it is: TYPES OF MOTIVATI...

MISION DIARY

WHAT IS GAMIFICATION IN EDUCATION? Gamification in education differs from games or based-game learning because, although it uses game elements or designs, it is not a game for having just fun, but for learning during the process and reaching some  skill-based g oals. It is also a collaborative-based learning. Gamification is put in a challenging context in which pupils' mind skills must be working together to reach their mission. It is in the end, a rewarding experience.
